We do have some cards like revolut which provide some benefits but you have to pay a monthly sub. It's more promotional stuff like free Uber one, perplexity, tinder etc. I don't find those terribly useful except for perplexity.

Those are financial casinos, not real banks, operating with non-full banking licenses, peddling all the tech-bro bullshit: trading on memecoins, pulling out of countries when the regulations that real banks have to follow irks them.

Revolut Ultra in the UK costs less than the FT Digital subscription it includes so if you're an FT subscriber, all the other stuff that comes with the account is cheaper than free.
