even getting a sharepoint workflow to run with libreoffice is almost impossible without replacing pretty much everything underneath it.

IT decided they'd make some awful SharePoint page the browser homepage for Chrome via group policy. That page required you to login to your Microsoft account. If it was a Monday morning you'd have to authenticate via SMS just to see your homepage.

I came to the conclusion that if it s not Teams SharePoint or the moat is on the extreme legal complexity side (e.g. payrolls), you can at least think of building an alternative.

And then there's Sharepoint and all of that, all the sharing and access control is baked through the stack and available in all the frontends, whether that's on desktop, mobile, web, etc.
