WORKED

The one-time pricing is such a breath of fresh air in a space where everything is $20/month. The fully on-device angle is what actually makes it believable too, most tools say 'privacy-first' but still send audio somewhere.

Product Hunt • ProductHunt • Use case: Recording microphone and system audio simultaneously, likely for content creation or meetings.

WORKED

On-device makes sense for corporate environments where IT won't allow audio on third-party servers.

Product Hunt • ProductHunt • Use case: Recording audio in a corporate environment with IT restrictions.

I spent a lot of time doing my own bookkeeping under the guise of saving money. I ve used Xero, Gnu, Wave, etc.

Wave is a cost-effective option to Freshbooks. I still preference Freshbooks due to their phenomenal customer service.

FAILED

Wave has just an invoicing app, implying it lacks a full accounting mobile app needed by the user.

WORKED

Have been using it for my needs over the past 12 months with no major complaints.

FAILED

Wave doesn't have a way to CC invoices. This caused a lot of confusion when multiple people wanted to receive the invoice, but only one person was supposed to process it.

To be honest, I was fine using Wave, but...

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Originally used as accounting software to keep all accounts.

FAILED

I feel like I should have used quickbooks. Though they have payroll, they do not pay your taxes for you... I've forgotten and had to pay penalty. Their ACH requires people to log into their bank. I'm not going to try to convince my customers to click on a link on my invoice and put in their bank credentials.

Hacker News • HackerNews • Use case: Payroll, recurring invoices, and ACH payments

Their invoicing is simple to use so I'll stick with it, for now. The bookkeeping...counts your transaction twice (once for your invoice and again when Wave deposits $ into your account)...you just need to delete it manually.

Wave is only available for U.S and Canadian businesses. We are addressing the European market.
