AI Search Readiness Audit & Fix Plan
Build an agentic workflow that ingests your homepage HTML, scores AI-search readiness on a 100-point rubric, classifies your site Hot/Warm/Cold for answer-engine citation, and drafts the exact fixes (JSON-LD blocks, rewritten paragraphs, robots.txt additions), ready to paste in.
aeo · ai-search · audit · schema · scorecard · citation
Run this quarterly on your homepage and your top 3 money pages. The first run almost always scores 30–55: don't panic. The single highest-leverage fix is usually rewriting the first 50 words of your homepage to directly answer the query your customers actually type. Schema matters, but answer-first content is what AI engines extract.

Homepage HTML:

Act as an AI Search / AEO (Answer Engine Optimization) auditor. My homepage HTML is pasted above and my robots.txt is in the business context below. Score AI-search readiness on the 100-point rubric below, classify Hot/Warm/Cold, and draft every fix ready to paste.
Business context:
- Name & what we do: [NAME — SENTENCE]
- Customer: [WHO] · market focus: [AREA]
- Top 3 queries to own: [Q1], [Q2], [Q3]
- Top 3 competitors AI engines cite: [C1], [C2], [C3]
- Page conversion goal: [GOAL]
- robots.txt, the file at my domain followed by /robots.txt: [PASTE ROBOTS.TXT, or BLANK]
Rubric (100 points):
1. Structured data (0-25): Organization+WebSite valid (0-8); page-specific schema valid (0-10); no duplicate microdata (0-4); required fields populated (0-3)
2. Answer-first content (0-25): paragraph 1 answers the title's question (0-10); ≤50 words, no filler (0-8); specific facts/numbers (0-7)
3. FAQ coverage (0-15): 5+ real-user questions visible (0-7); FAQPage JSON-LD matches (0-5); answers direct, 40-90 words (0-3)
4. Entity clarity (0-15): one-sentence business answer extractable (0-6); NAP visible (0-5); authority signals (0-4)
5. Crawler access (0-10): robots.txt references sitemap (0-3); robots.txt does not block the AI search crawlers OAI-SearchBot, PerplexityBot, Claude-SearchBot or the user-request agents ChatGPT-User, Perplexity-User, Claude-User (0-5); no accidental noindex (0-2)
6. Citation-worthiness (0-10): quotable specific data (0-6); verifiable/sourced (0-4)
Scoring robots.txt: judge the two robots.txt items in dimension 5 only from the file I pasted in the business context. An agent the file does not name follows the * group and counts as not blocked unless that group blocks it. If I pasted no robots.txt, mark both items "not assessable", score them 0, say beside the total that 8 points were not assessed, and ask me for the file in output 5 instead of drafting a robots.txt fix. On a separate unscored line under the scorecard, report the AI training controls GPTBot, ClaudeBot, Google-Extended and Applebot-Extended as blocked or not blocked: blocking those is my choice, so it is reported, not scored.
Classify: Hot 75+ · Warm 50-74 · Cold under 50.
Output, in order:
1. Scorecard table: Dimension · Max · Score · Evidence (quote the HTML or the robots.txt) · Priority fix
2. Total, classification, letter grade A-F, 2-sentence rationale
3. The single highest-leverage fix — under 120 words, non-developer language, code included if needed
4. Drafted fixes for every dimension under 70% of max — full paste-ready JSON-LD blocks, rewritten paragraphs, new FAQs, corrected robots.txt, rewritten hero copy
5. Human-review items — where a fix needs a business fact I haven't given, ask for it rather than inventing it
Success means every score cites the HTML or the robots.txt, and every drafted fix contains no placeholder that I would have to guess at.
Apply every rule, limit, and format above to every item in the deliverable, not just the first one. Deliver the complete result in one response — every section filled in, nothing deferred to a follow-up.
If a required input is missing, ask for it once before starting; otherwise proceed and label any assumption you made.Notes: R40 refresh; tuned to vendor prompting guidance
