The day you send a quote, before it goes quiet.

This is the plan. If a quote has already gone quiet, use "Follow up on a quote that went quiet" for the single message.

Prompt Variants by Model
Act as a producer at an independent agency who just sent a quote. Plan the follow-up sequence before silence sets in.
Prospect: [NAME] · [PERSONAL OR COMMERCIAL] · [WHAT THEY DO]
What I sent: [LINES, PREMIUM, DATE SENT, HOW]
Their decision timing, if known: [RENEWAL DATE / CLOSING DATE / "UNKNOWN"]
What they told me matters most: [PRICE / COVERAGE / SERVICE / SPEED / QUOTE THEM]
Channels I can use: [EMAIL / TEXT / CALL]
True material I can share: [FACTS ABOUT THE QUOTE, COVERAGE DIFFERENCES, REAL DATES, SERVICE FACTS, OR "NONE"]
Produce, in order:
0. ASSUMPTIONS. Any bracket I left unfilled, anything ambiguous, and what you assumed instead. Write "none" if there were none
1. The sequence as a table: touch number · day · channel · what new information or question it carries · one-line purpose. Four touches, unless the decision date forces fewer
2. Touch 1 in full, under 80 words
3. Touch 3 in full, under 80 words. It must contain something the prospect did not have before
4. The stop rule: when the sequence ends and the close-out message, under 50 words
5. WHAT I ASSUMED ABOUT WHY THEY MIGHT GO QUIET. Every inferred or unsourced claim, listed plainly
Rules:
- Anything you inferred rather than were told goes in "WHAT I ASSUMED ABOUT WHY THEY MIGHT GO QUIET" instead, never in both places
- No touch is a reminder that I exist. Each carries information, a deadline that is real, or a question they can answer in one line
- The information in a touch comes only from the material I listed. Where I listed too little, that touch asks a question they can answer in one line and nothing is invented to fill it, since a prospect who catches one made-up fact stops trusting the quote
- Never write "just checking in", "circling back", "touching base" or "following up"
- Texts only if they gave me the number for that purpose. Say so in section 1 if that is unknown
- Hard limit: 400 words for the whole response. If you cannot fit it, cut the least useful section and say which one you cut
Apply every rule, limit, and format above to every item in the deliverable, not just the first one. Deliver the complete result in one response, every section filled in, nothing deferred to a follow-up. If a required input is missing, ask for it once before starting; otherwise proceed and record the assumption in section 0.Notes: R42 build; insurance set. Tuned to vendor prompting guidance.
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Plan the touches after a quote goes out prompt do?
The day you send a quote, before it goes quiet.
Which AI models is this prompt written for?
Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. Each one gets its own version up top, written the way that vendor says to prompt its own model. Pick the tab that matches yours.
Do I need a paid AI account to use this prompt?
No. This prompt is written to run on the free tier of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. Paid tiers simply give you longer context windows and faster responses.

Yes. Any text inside square brackets is a placeholder you replace with your own business details, such as company name, audience, product or tone. You can also ask the AI to adjust format, length or style after the first output.
When was this prompt last checked?
The date is on each version up top. We check every prompt in full every month, and when a major new model lands we rewrite the prompt for it. One glance tells you how current it is before you paste.
