Ad Copy Variations
Write three text ad versions for search or social that differ in one thing only, so the test tells you something. Every claim, price and deadline comes from what you supplied.
ads · ad copy · google ads · meta ads · a/b testing · ppc
Change one thing per test. Three ads that differ in everything tell you which ad won, not why. Check the character counts in the ad tool before you publish.
How to use this prompt

Prompt Variants by Model
Act as a performance marketer for a small business. Write three text ad variations for one offer that differ in one thing only, so the test tells me something.
Platform [GOOGLE SEARCH / META / LINKEDIN / OTHER] · what I am advertising [PRODUCT, SERVICE OR OFFER] · audience [WHO, AND WHAT THEY WANT] · landing page [URL AND ITS HEADLINE] · claims I can prove [RESULTS, PRICES, GUARANTEES, REVIEWS, WITH THE NUMBERS] · offer details [PRICE, DISCOUNT, DEADLINE, or NONE] · words or claims I may not use [LIST, or NONE] · keywords, for search [LIST, or NONE] · tone [DESCRIBE]
Deliver:
1. The test: the one thing that differs across the three ads (the hook, the benefit or the call to action) and why it is worth testing
2. Three ads in the platform's own fields: name the ad format you chose, and beside each field show its character count and the limit you used
3. For each ad: what it tests, and the claim it rests on, quoted from my list
4. What to measure, and how long to run the test before I judge it, given as a rule of thumb and labeled as one
5. Compliance notes: any wording in these ads that platforms commonly restrict, flagged for me to check against the platform's current policy
Every claim, number, price and deadline in an ad comes from my inputs, because an ad is a public promise. With no offer details, no ad mentions a price, a discount or a deadline. Everything except the thing being tested stays the same across the three ads. On search, work my keywords into the headlines where they fit. Limits change and counts can slip, so I will confirm both in the ad tool before publishing.
Success means every field is within the limit you stated, no ad promises something the landing page headline does not, and no ad contains a claim I did not supply.
Match the tone I specified above exactly; where I gave none, write plainly and warmly, the way a good operator talks to a customer: no corporate filler, no hedging phrases.
Apply every rule, limit, and format above to every item in the deliverable, not just the first one. Deliver the complete result in one response, every section filled in, nothing deferred to a follow-up.
If a required input is missing, ask for it once before starting; otherwise proceed and label any assumption you made.Notes: R54 build; tuned to vendor prompting guidance
Frequently Asked Questions
What does the Ad Copy Variations prompt do?
Write three text ad versions for search or social that differ in one thing only, so the test tells you something. Every claim, price and deadline comes from what you supplied.
Which AI models is this prompt written for?
Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. Each one gets its own version up top, written the way that vendor says to prompt its own model. Pick the tab that matches yours.
Do I need a paid AI account to use this prompt?
No. This prompt is written to run on the free tier of Claude, ChatGPT, Gemini and Copilot. Paid tiers simply give you longer context windows and faster responses.
Can I customize this prompt for my business?
Yes. Any text inside square brackets is a placeholder you replace with your own business details, such as company name, audience, product or tone. You can also ask the AI to adjust format, length or style after the first output.
When was this prompt last checked?
The date is on each version up top. We check every prompt in full every month, and when a major new model lands we rewrite the prompt for it. One glance tells you how current it is before you paste.
